When comparing two Registry snapshots you can see the exact changes made in the Registry between the two snapshots and export the Registry changes into a standard .reg
RegistryChangesView is a portable application that does not require installation just extract the archive and run the application.
You can choose different data sources for each snapshot, including Shadow Copy, Saved Registry Snapshot and Current Registry. So long as the two snapshots are not identical, you may use any combination.
You can easily create a new registry snapshot by selecting "Saved Registry Snapshot" and clicking the "Create Registry Snapshot" button.You will choose the destination folder where you want to save the new snapshot. Creating a snapshot takes only a few seconds.
Once you have selected the two registry snapshots that you want to compare, you will need to set two options. The "Direction" option lets you specify the snapshot that you want to use as the base for comparison. Depending on the direction you choose, the identified changes may be marked as added key/value or removed key/value. The selected direction will also determine the way the program generates a .reg file.
The "Hives to compare" option lets you select the registry hives that you want to compare. You simply options according to your requirements.
As already indicated, you may use the software to generate a .reg file. You can export only selected or all items. The generated file will make changes according to the direction used.
